Jacksonville-based Haskell appointed Jim O’Leary as CEO, taking over full executive leadership of the $1 billion global architecture, engineering, construction and consulting firm.
O’Leary, 52, was appointed president in September. He now holds both titles, succeeding Steve Halverson.
Halverson, who remains chairman, was president and CEO for 19 years.
Halverson said O’Leary “is the right person, at the right time. I trust Jim completely.”
O’Leary joined Haskell in 1989. During his 29 years with the company, his positions included field engineer, project manager, senior project manager, director, vice president, senior vice president, executive vice president, COO and president.
Preston Haskell founded the company in 1965. Halverson was the company’s second CEO.
Haskell served as president until appointing Halverson in August 1999.
The company, after acquisitions and initiatives, has more than 1,350 employees in 20 offices in the United States, Mexico and Asia. It expects to record sales of more than $1 billion in its markets that include consumer packaged goods, federal, health care, energy, infrastructure and transportation.
O’Leary is a University of Florida graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in building construction. He is a certified general contractor.
