St. Vincent’s is preparing to change names to include Ascension, its parent system and the largest nonprofit health system in the U.S. and the largest Catholic system worldwide.
The state received nine fictitious name filings for Ascension Medical Group St. Vincent’s; Ascension Pharmacy; Ascension St. Vincent’s; Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside; Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside Family Medicine Center; Ascension St. Vincent’s Southside; Ascension St. Vincent’s Clay County; Ascension St. Vincent’s Urgent Care; and Ascension St. Vincent’s Health Partners.
An announcement is expected in the spring.
GateHouse Media, owner of The Florida Times-Union, applied for a certificate of use and a building permit to renovate and occupy 25,282 square feet of space at Wells Fargo Center at 1 Independent Drive Downtown.
Dav-Lin Interior Contractors is listed on the permit application as the contractor for a $45,858 project, although that cost is subject to revision.
CA Florida Holdings LLC, a GateHouse Media entity, is listed as the business owner.
The Times-Union reported in September it would relocate its news, advertising and accounting operations from 1 Riverside Ave., where it moved in 1967, to the second floor of the 35-story Wells Fargo Center during the first quarter.
The Morris family bought the paper and the property in 1982 and sold the newspaper last year to GateHouse Media.
Jacksonville-based Trailer Bridge Inc. is exploring development of a 100,000-square-foot cross-dock warehouse at northeast Heckscher Drive and Interstate 295.
JEA issued an availability letter for utility service.
“At this point all we’ve done is complete a feasibility study,” said Indie Bollman, director of corporate development.
Founded in 1991, Trailer Bridge is a shipping and logistics firm that sells ocean, truckload, intermodal, expedited, specialized cargo, vehicles, over-dimensional, warehousing and transloading services.
It has offices in Jacksonville; Charleston, South Carolina; Chicago; San Juan, Puerto Rico; the Dominican Republic; and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
