Environmental Holdings Group LLC submitted the low bid of $7,985,000 to demolish the former Jacksonville City Hall and Duval County Courthouse.
Four companies submitted bids by the 2 p.m. Wednesday deadline.
Environmental Holdings is based in Morrisville, North Carolina, near Raleigh. It has an office in Tampa.
Other bidders were Pece of Mind Environmental Inc., $8,300,000; Total Wrecking & Environmental LLC, $10,392,000; and D.H. Griffin Wrecking Co. Inc., $11,100,000.
A fifth company, J.B. Coxwell Contracting Inc., qualified to bid but did not submit one.
Total Wrecking is the contractor demolishing the St. Johns River Power Park.
The city Procurement Division will evaluate the bids and select the winner, after which the contract can be finalized. The city anticipates the notice to proceed will be given by late July.
Demolition is scheduled to be completed 240 calendar days from the notice to proceed.
Mayor Lenny Curry earmarked $8 million in his $1.2 billion budget for the job as part of the $131 million Capital Improvement Plan.
Bids to redevelop the site are being sought separately.
