Buc-ee’s won’t open 120 fuel pumps at its St. Johns County gas station and convenience store.
Instead, it wants to open 104 pumps and reduce its on-site parking from 417 spaces to 392.
Buc-ee’s Ltd. agent England-Thims & Miller Inc., a civil engineering and planning consultant, applied to the St. Johns County Growth Management Department for a Small Adjustment to the master development plan recorded Dec. 1.
The plan applies to the 13.71 acres that Texas-based Buc-ee’s bought in November at southwest Interstate 95 and International Golf Parkway in the World Commerce Center.
The Small Adjustment applications do not request variances from county land development code or waivers from the PUD ordinance. They also do not require a public hearing.
The Buc-ee’s application requests a site plan adjustment to the front entry on World Commerce Center Parkway and the relocation of canopies on both sides of the 52,600-square-foot convenience store. That size remains the same.
Those changes would reduce the impervious area while increasing landscaped green space within the vehicular use area.
County growth management staff is reviewing the changes.
According to the St. Johns County Growth Management Department, the changes were not because of staff or public comment.
Buc-ee’s didn’t respond to an email requesting comment.
