Jacksonville University is contemplating community amenities at its health sciences complex north of its Arlington campus that could include Panera Bread and Starbucks Coffee.
The two tenants are included in a filing with the Mobility Fee Calculation Certificate application for the 105,000-square-foot health sciences building.
The documents outline an eventual 120-bed skilled nursing facility, the 105,000-square-foot medical office building, an existing 8,728-square-foot classroom, lab and medical office space building, a 106-bed assisted living center and the 4,500-square-foot Panera Bread and 2,100-square-foot Starbucks.
The medical complex is planned at 3412 University Blvd. N. next to the JU campus at 2800 University Blvd. N.
Without addressing the two food tenants, the university responded in general.
“The recent completion of the record-setting ASPIRE campaign and the unprecedented bond issuance earlier this year have helped greatly accelerate our progress,” said JU spokesman Scott Bacon, referring to the university’s fundraising.
“As we embrace this rapid growth we are constantly exploring opportunities to enhance our students’ on-campus experience,” said Bacon, senior vice president of marketing and communications.
