Owners of Courtyard by Marriott hotels are building two and remodeling another.
• The Courtyard by Marriott at Mayo Clinic will be remodeled. The city approved a permit Tuesday for Land-Ron Inc. to renovate the hotel at 14390 Mayo Blvd. at a cost of $963,881. Tenant improvements are planned for the lobby, guest rooms, meeting room, employee office, break room, restrooms and corridors. The fitness center and guest laundry will be relocated to new space. The contractor is Land-Ron Inc.
• A 110-room, five-story Courtyard by Marriott is in review for 513 Chaffee Point Blvd. in West Jacksonville. SMC Construction Southeast LLC is the contractor for the $8.5 million project on 2 acres. Plans show a first-floor fitness center, lounge, business library, meeting room and market. There is no pool.
• The St. Johns River Water Management District is reviewing an application for a dual-branded 239-room Courtyard by Marriott and SpringHill Suites for The Compass Group on 4.71 acres at 2700 Atlantic Ave. in Fernandina Beach. Gillette & Associates Inc. is the engineering consultant. Plans show a pool.
