Mark VanLoh is the next chief executive officer of the Jacksonville Aviation Authority.
JAA board members voted unanimously Monday to select VanLoh to take over for Steve Grossman, who retired in October. Grossman announced in June he was leaving the authority after nine years as CEO.
VanLoh comes to Jacksonville after nearly two years in the same role for the Tulsa Airport Authority in Oklahoma.
Before arriving in Tulsa, VanLoh spent 12 years as director of aviation for Kansas City, Missouri. He previously spent three years as CEO of the Chattanooga Airport Authority in Tennessee.
ADK Consulting and Executive Search headed the months-long hunt for a new chief executive, receiving 73 applications.
Of those applicants, the firm presented four candidates to the JAA board of directors to consider.
Rusty Chandler, who is the chief of Cecil Airport and general aviation, served as interim CEO. Chandler did not apply for the permanent role.
VanLoh has a bachelor’s in administration, aviation and economics from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He served in the U.S. Army from 1978-81.
