Wawa continues earning approvals for a Southside location.

The city issued a concurrency reservation certificate and a conditional capacity availability statement for the proposed Wawa at southeast Emerson Street and Spring Park Road.

The Pennsylvania-based gas station and convenience store chain proposes a 5,640-square-foot store and six pumps with 12 fueling positions on 2.1 acres.

The chain wants to build a 4,968-square-foot convenience store and gas station on 1.35 acres at 1195 St. Johns Parkway, at Racetrack Road, in St. Johns County.

Circle K also is closer to demolishing its location at 12743 Atlantic Blvd. and building a 5,314-square-foot convenience store and gas station and a 1,489-square-foot car wash. The city is reviewing a construction permit for the $5.55 million project.
