Patrick “Joey” Greive was named Jacksonville’s next chief financial officer by Mayor Lenny Curry on Tuesday.

Greive, the city treasurer, would succeed Mike Weinstein, who will retire Nov. 9.

Greive joined the city in 2010 as chief investment officer. Before joining the city, Greive worked at Merrill Lynch.

Replacing Greive as treasurer is Randall Barnes, the city assistant treasurer and senior debt manager since 2015. Barnes previously led treasury-related duties at the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Both appointments require City Council approval.
