Permit sought for welcome center at eTown; Gateway Village at Town Center to build foundation

The eTown development along Interstate 295 and Florida 9B is starting to show concrete steps toward construction.

The PARC Group developer recently announced that the first two neighborhoods in eTown will include Edison by Toll Brothers and Marconi by David Weekley Homes and ICI Homes.

Both neighborhoods will feature one- and two-story home designs of 2,500 to more than 4,000 square feet.  

The proposed Village Center commercial project in eTown is in city zoning and site plan review.

And PARC Group now has applied for a permit to build the foundation for its eTown welcome center at 11003 E-Town Parkway. Horizontal development for the 1.73-acre site was approved Sept. 11.

The almost 4,800-square-foot center will include an event lawn, according to plans filed with the Mobility Fee Calculation Certificate application.

Carlton Construction Inc. is the contractor for the foundation.

The city also is reviewing site plans for nonresidential parcels at eTown just east of Florida 9B.

Gateway Village: Apartments and retail on the way

Atlanta-based Davis Development applied to the city for a permit to build the foundation for the 289-unit Satori apartments in Gateway Village at Town Center.

The four-story project at 10640 Satori Lane comprises 171 one-bedroom, 102 two-bedroom and 16 three-bedroom units, the permit application shows.

Cantrell & Morgan is the developer of the 18.5-acre Gateway Village at southwest Gate Parkway and Deerwood Park Boulevard. 

Gateway Village developers recently paid more than $1.1 million for a 1.5-acre outparcel at the site to build a 9,000-square-foot retail building.

Commercial real estate services company Cantrell & Morgan, through Jacksonville Gateway Village LLC, is developing the property.

CEO Chris Morgan said the building will include Tropical Smoothie with a drive-thru, a radiology group and another tenant.

Developers already are developing two retail buildings to include Sushi House, Bellezza Nails Spa, CycleBar, MyDry Blowout Bar, Burrito Gallery and M Hospitality Restaurant & Catering Group, among other tenants.

In addition to Satori and the three retail buildings, Gateway Village will include the RaceTrac in development.

Morgan said another 2 acres remain for development.
