Sidebar, a private event space for meetings and gatherings, is open at the Dalton Agency’s headquarters Downtown at 140 W. Monroe St. near Hemming Park. The 2,000-square-foot venue features an interactive video wall, bar area, coffee counter and a full catering kitchen. The space can accommodate 50 people. According to the sidebarjax.com, rates are $350 per hour with three-hour minimum.
Preferred vendors include Cowford Chophouse, Vagabond Coffee, Tie the Knot bartending and A1A Valet for valet parking. Private security is included in the hourly or daily event space rental rates.
There is a $50 charge for not using a preferred vendor.
“We wanted to create a unique space for our staff, clients, and others to enjoy in a modern, urban setting,” said Jim Dalton, CEO of the Dalton Agency in a news release.
Kasper Architects + Associates designed the interior space.
Michael Munz, president of the public relations and social group at Dalton, said the three-floor atrium space in the middle of the office remains available for private events.
The Sidebar fills the space in the Dalton Agency building vacated by Subway, which closed in 2017.
The name Sidebar connotes several elements in the political, legal and journalism realms, all of which relate to the Dalton Agency's focus.
Munz said in December he envisions use by employees, clients, outside groups with a connection to the agency, other community organizations as well as publicly noticed meetings.
Munz and Dalton, co-owners of the Dalton Agency, also own the two-story, 30,096-square-foot headquarters building.
The Dalton Agency is a national advertising, public relations, and interactive marketing firm.
