Lego, the maker of small, plastic interlocking building blocks and toys sold at retailers worldwide, is bringing a store to St. Johns Town Center.

The city is reviewing a build-out permit for Lego in a space in front of Dillard's.

No contractor is listed for the $525,350 project to renovate 2,727 square feet of space at 4663 River City Drive, Suite K13A. That appears to be near the Hollister Co. store.

The Lego Group is a Denmark-based privately held, family-owned company with offices in London, Shanghai, Singapore and in Enfield, Connecticut.

In addition to selling the products in retail stores and online, Lego operates worldwide stores, including more than 90 among about 35 states.

Lego.com lists Florida stores in Aventura Mall, Dadeland Mall, Disney Springs, Sawgrass Mills Mall and Westfield Brandon Mall.

Lego sells the colorful components in categories, such as animals, space, video games and vehicles, and in themes, including DC Super Heroes, Marvel Super Heroes, Minecraft, Harry Potter and Star Wars.

Lego also licenses the Legoland Florida Resort and theme park in Winter Haven owned and operated by British theme park company Merlin Entertainments Group.
