SK8 City Fun Zone is open at Regency Court Shopping Center.
Owner Terry Harris said the venue will operate seven days a week from 1-5 p.m. and 6-10 p.m. daily.
Admission is $12 and skate rental is $3.
Harris is opening the roller rink and other entertainment activities in 29,750 square feet in the Arlington center near Regency Square Mall.
A 7,000-square-foot roller rink will dominate the venue, which will feature laser-light shows.
Harris said he is “giving an experience,” describing it as “the Chick-fil-A of roller rinks.”
Snacks and soft drinks are available. Harris expects a full kitchen to be operating in February.
Other activities include bumper cars, arcade, party rooms and potentially a stage for standup comedy.
It will offer free Wi-Fi.
Harris said children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by someone at least 16 years old. SK8 City “is not a day care,” he said.
He proposes to open a small movie theater in a separate area in the future.
Harris wants to offer educational programs, such as financial literacy and entrepreneurship classes for adults and support for youth STEM programs.
