Gate Parkway near Ikea is about to become busier with a Wawa gas station and convenience store, a Baer’s Furniture store and a self-storage facility.
The property, at northwest Gate Parkway and Point Meadows Drive, is referred to as Gate Point Meadows in some documents. The location is south of St. Johns Town Center.
Tampa-based Brightwork Real Estate is the developer of the 13.3-acre property, which is designed for five parcels. In addition to Baer’s, Wawa and the self-storage project, the other two parcels are expected to be a retail, quick-service restaurant or commercial building and a commercial or retail building.
Brightwork bought the property for $7.7 million from the Skinner family and sold 4.12 acres to Baer’s Furniture Co. of Pompano Beach for $3.2 million.
England-Thims & Miller Inc. is the civil engineering consultant.
Here’s the latest:

• Through BW Gate Point Meadows LLC, Brightwork applied for a conditional concurrency availability statement for a 104,100-square-foot self-storage structure on 2.26 acres.
• Plans show a 6,119-square-foot Wawa gas station and convenience store with 16 fueling positions.
