Burlington Stores Inc. will open Friday at River City Marketplace in North Jacksonville.

Burlington is an off-price retailer that sells clothing, shoes, accessories and other items. It competes with Ross, T.J. Maxx and Marshalls.

The 40,000-square-foot store at 13075 City Square Drive occupies about half of what was Gander Mountain.

Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

It’s the fifth Burlington store in the Jacksonville area. It also operates stores in Mandarin, near Argyle in Southwest Jacksonville and in the Regency area. The chain opened in The Pavilion at Durbin Park in St. Johns County in September.

The 81,537-square-foot Gander Mountain closed in 2017.

A Spirit Halloween store that opened Sept. 2 occupies the other half of the building.

The store is at 4742 River City Drive, Suite 113, the former site of Denim & Soul.
