Software developer Feature [23] says the need for more space is behind its move to the former CenterState Bank Building at 100 N. Laura St. in Downtown Jacksonville.
“We needed more contiguous space,” said Tracy Potts, the co-founder of Feature [23].
The company currently is leasing space a block north in the Greenleaf-Crosby Building at 208 N. Laura St.
When the company moved into the 10th floor of the building in 2014, it had about a dozen consultants, software engineers and strategists.
“We’re up to about 30 employees now,” Potts said. “We are tripling our useable space.”
Potts said the move should be complete in March when the company’s lease at the Greenleaf ends.
Tenant Contractors Inc. is the contractor for the $877,519 project to renovate 13,514 square feet of space on the fifth floor of the 10-story building at 100 N. Laura St., at northwest Laura and Forsyth streets.
Feature [23] will occupy approximately 7,340 square feet and Abel Bean Law will occupy the remaining square feet, according to leasing agent Matthew Clark, senior vice president with Prime Realty. Clark said Feature [23] currently occupies 4,400 square feet in the Greenleaf Building.
The company began in 2008 when Potts and her husband, Mike, founded Potts Consulting Group in the Southpoint area.
Mike Potts was a veteran software consultant and technology executive and Tracy Potts, an operations executive.
In 2011, they brought in Jeremy Vaughan as chief strategy officer, to help with business development.
In 2012, they rebranded as Feature [23] in downtown St. Augustine. The business moved to Jacksonville to be closer to their clients.
CenterState Bank relocated from the building in September to the FirstAtlantic Bank offices at 1325 Hendricks Ave.
FirstAtlantic was owned by National Commerce Corp., which became part of CenterState Bank Corp. in a merger completed April 1.
