Jacksonville University’s for-credit course, featuring 10 TEDxJacksonville speakers throughout the semester, is open to the public.

The course is 4-5 p.m. Mondays at JU’s Gooding Auditorium at 2800 University Blvd. N. The first lecture was Sept. 16. The lectures are weekly until December 3.

TEDxJacksonville began offering the course last fall.

JU students pay tuition, but anyone else can attend for free. No advance registration is required.

“Jacksonville University has been an incredible supporter of TEDxJacksonville. They value the importance of lifelong learning and sharing knowledge in a great environment,” said TEDxJacksonville co-organizer and Executive Producer Sabeen Perwaiz. “One of the things that’s important to TEDxJacksonville is opening minds with inspiring ideas — so this is a natural connection and opportunity for collaboration.”

• Sept. 23: Hank Coxe, “When Will Your Child Be Eligible for Parole?”

• Sept. 30: Anunnaki Ray Marquez, “Born Intersex: We Are Human!”
