TIAA announced Sept. 16 that Blake Wilson, 53, retired as chairman and CEO of its Jacksonville-based subsidiary, TIAA Bank, and was succeeded as chief executive officer by President and Chief Operating Officer Steve Fischer, 50.
Wilson had been CEO since TIAA acquired Jacksonville-based EverBank in June 2017 and merged it with its bank subsidiary.
EverBank CEO Rob Clements retired when the merger was completed and was succeeded by Wilson, who was then president.
Wilson joined EverBank in 2002 as chief financial officer. Fischer joined EverBank in 2011, succeeding Wilson as chief financial officer.
Wilson will remain with the bank in an advisory capacity through the end of the year before retiring. TIAA said Wilson decided the time was right to retire after leading the integration of the merged bank.
Fischer, as president and CEO, remains in Jacksonville. The COO role will not be filled.
TIAA named Colbert Narcisse as executive vice president of Wealth Management. He will be based in New York.
TIAA Bank said lead independent director Joseph White became chairman of the board and of the board’s executive and audit committees.
Linda McNabb, vice president of sales and marketing for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp minor league baseball team, was awarded the JAX Chamber Jacksonville Women’s Business Center’s ATHENA leadership award for community service and developing women to gain leadership skills and promoting professional excellence.
Denise Boggs-Wilkerson was named officer in charge of Naval Branch Health Clinic Jacksonville. Boggs-Wilkerson was senior medical officer of Admiral Joel T. Boone Branch Health Clinic in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realty Inc. announced two leadership positions:
Mona Gardella was promoted to chief operating officer. Gardella was vice president, managing offices at Fleming Island, Oakleaf and Avondale. She joined the company in 2010 as a real estate agent.
Kim Knapp was named manager of the Fleming Island and Oakleaf offices. Knapp is president of the Jacksonville Multiple Listing Service and is a board member of the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors.
