Duval judicial interviews scheduled Aug. 18

The 11 candidates applied for a vacancy on the Duval County Court.

With the elevation of Judge Jonathan Sacks to the 4th Judicial Circuit Court bench, there is a vacancy on the Duval County Court bench.

Gov. Ron DeSantis has directed the 4th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission to provide him with up to six qualified nominees, one of whom he may appoint to succeed Sacks.

The commission received 11 applications and will interview the applicants Aug. 18:

10 a.m.: James Le Mieux

10:30 a.m.: Phil Bavingtom

10:30 a.m.: James Nealis

10:45 a.m.: Break

11 a.m.:  Isaac East

11:15 a.m.: Marquita Green

11:30 a.m.: Katelyn Johnston

11:45 a.m.: Lunch and deliberations

1 p.m.: Matthew Lufrano

1:15 p.m.:  Joshua Beard

1:30 p.m.:  Nancy Cleaveland

1:45 p.m.: Break

2 p.m.: David Wainer III

2:15 p.m.: Jordan Beard

2:30 p.m.: Deliberations resume

Interviews are conducted in 4th Circuit Chief Judge Lance Day’s chambers at the Duval County Courthouse at 501 W. Adams St.

Proceedings of the commission are open to the public except for deliberations.
