Herschel Vinyard Jr. was appointed partner in charge of the Jacksonville office of Adams and Reese, a law firm with more than 300 attorneys practicing across the southern U.S. and Washington, D.C.

Vinyard’s practice includes state environmental law, government affairs, environmental regulations and permitting.

He is experienced with issues related to the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Clean Water Act and Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act, also known as Superfund, including state environmental statutory counterparts.

Vinyard was secretary of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection from 2011-14. In that role, he was involved in all aspects of Florida environmental policy, including permitting, water policy, wetlands, state conservation lands, cabinet affairs and ecosystem restoration.
