Ground was broken on The Peninsula, downtown’s newest condominium highrise, Thursday afternoon during a brief reception at the tower’s Southbank lot on the St. Johns River. Among those present at the event was Mayor John Peyton (seen here with American Land Ventures LLC principal Granvil Tracy), who said he has been impressed with the progress made at the site by project developer American Land Ventures and with the brisk sales there. There are reportedly fewer than 10 condominiums available. American Land Ventures also is developing neighboring apartment tower The Strand.
