Gators victorious in courtroom

From left, University of Florida Levin College of Law Dean Robert Jerry and law students Heather Kruzyk and Andrew Silvershein, who prevailed Friday in the 33rd Annual Florida-Georgia-Hulsey/Gambrell moot court competition. The tradition began in 1970 as the legal comminity’s prelude to the annual football game when the late Mark Hulsey, a Florida law graduate, and the late Charlie Kimbrell, a Georgia law graduate, agreed to co-sponsor the competition that features students from each school arguing a fictitious case in federal court. The competition took place at the Bryan Simpson U.S. Courthouse before this year’s bench: Senior Judge William Terrell Hodges, Middle District of Florida; Judge B. Avant Edenfield, South District of Georgia; Judge Gerald B. Tjoflat, 11th Circuit Court of Appeal; Chief Judge Lisa Godbey Wood, Southern District of Georgia; and Judge Marcia Morales Howard, Middle District of Florida.
