COO, Executive Director, Catholic Charities, Jacksonville Regional Office

Mission

The mission of Catholic Charities is to provide services to anyone in need, regardless of race or religion; to advocate justice, human dignity and quality of life; and to call all people to join in these efforts; thereby reflecting the compassion of God in Christ.

Serving Jacksonville

Catholic Charities has been serving the Jacksonville community officially since it was incorporated in 1945.

Those served

Catholic Charities serves individuals within the five-county area of Duval, Baker, Nassau, Clay and Northern St. Johns counties. The Jacksonville office provided services through seven major programs to 18,071 people on the First Coast in fiscal 2011-12.

Programs include the Emergency Assistance Program; Refugee Resettlement; Food Assistance; Adoption and Pregnancy Services; Ministry for Persons with Disabilities; Immigration Services; and Apostleship of the Sea.

Biggest challenge

During these tough economic times, the need for our services continues to be extremely high. Fundraising and developing resources (such as volunteers, in-kind donations and monetary donations) to meet this need continues to be challenging.

Biggest satisfaction

Seeing our mission carried out and changing people’s lives each day in a compassionate manner.
