O’Charley’s restaurant closed at 410 Commerce Center Drive in the Regency area.
The company announced the closure Monday by email.
“Sorry, we’ve closed,” it says. It thanks customers for their patronage, asks them to visit the Fleming Island location and includes a coupon for 20% off.
O’Charley’s Inc. in Nashville, Tennessee, owns the Regency area property. The 7,100-square-foot restaurant was built in 2002.
The Fleming Island restaurant is at 1609 County Road 220 in Orange Park.
Nation's Restaurant News reported Monday the Jacksonville location was one of four that O'Charley's closed Sunday. The others were in Pensacola; Jackson, Tennessee; and Meridian, Mississippi.
“As a longtime part of these communities, we appreciate our guests and the many friends we made over the years,” Craig Barber, president of O'Charley's, said in a statement sent to the trade publication.
“We are grateful to our team members who so capably served our guests and are assisting them in transitioning to other stores or new employment.”
Barber did not provide a reason for the closures.
O'Charley's closed eight restaurants in July.
The menu includes Southern food items, such as fried green tomatoes and chicken pot pie, and desserts.
O’Charley’s reported systemwide sales of $469.2 million in fiscal 2018, down from $498.1 million the year before, according to the trade publication.
In 2018, the brand had 201 units, down from 213 in 2016. The chain is owned by Nashville-based American Blue Ribbon Holdings LLC, an affiliate of Cannae Holdings Inc.
American Blue Ribbon also owns the Ninety Nine Restaurant and Pub, Village Inn and Bakers Square brands.
Cannae Holdings has a Jacksonville connection.
Jacksonville-based Fidelity National Financial Inc. spun off Cannae Holdings two years ago.
In September, Cannae announced an external management structure that keeps its management tied to Fidelity.
It signed a management contract with Trasimene Capital Management, a firm controlled by Fidelity and Cannae Chairman Bill Foley that will include Cannae/Fidelity executives.
