The Fresh Market appears to be expanding its Ponte Vedra Beach store to include a coffee bar as well as spirits and wine that includes on-site consumption.

The grocery anchors the Corridors at Ponte Vedra shopping center at 840 Florida A1A N.

St. Johns County plans show The Fresh Market plans to add the coffee bar and also requests approval for the on-site sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages and design approval for the exterior remodel of the facade.

That includes approval of proposed paint colors and a wall sign that reflects new branding.

The Fresh Market, based in Greensboro, North Carolina, has not responded to a request for comment.

The St. Johns County Planning and Zoning Agency is scheduled to hear a request April 18 for a minor modification of The Fresh Market’s Planned Unit Development agreement.

The company filed an application Jan. 26 with the St. Johns County Planning and Zoning Department for a minor modification of the store’s PUD.

The project description reads: “Request for a Minor Modification to the Players Club PUD (ORD 1975-15, as amended) to allow for the on-site sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages pursuant to Section 2.03.02 of the Land Development Code.”

The modification is needed because the proposed package store is 35 feet from The Bolles Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus at 200 ATP Tour Blvd.

The Driver, McAfee, Hawthorne and Diebenow law firm is representing The Fresh Market.

St. Johns County Building Services shows that The Fresh Market Coffee Bar is planned in Suite 210. Those plans are in review.

The Fresh Market Liquor Store also is planned in Suite 210.

Leasing site plans show that The Fresh Market occupied 26,306 square feet and has added 8,280 square feet next to it that was vacated by Tuesday Morning in 2023.

That increases The Fresh Market to 34,586 square feet.

Other stores in Corridors at Ponte Vedra include R&R Cleaners, AAA, Rita’s Italian Ice, Zulu Surf Company, Elite Nails, Tanning & Day Spa and Dollar Tree.

The center is in the Palm Valley Overlay District.

The Fresh Market has 159 stores in 22 states, according to its website. There are three in Jacksonville, one in Fleming Island and one in Ponte Vedra Beach.

Stephanie McCullough and Kelly Pulignano of The Shopping Center Group are the landlord representatives at Corridors at Ponte Vedra.
