4th Circuit Judge John Skinner resigns

Applications for vacancy due by Feb. 19.

The 4th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission is accepting applicants for the vacancy created by the resignation of Circuit Judge John Skinner.

Applicants must be meet the requirements for circuit court judges outlined in Article V, Section 8 of the Florida Constitution.

The application form may be downloaded at floridabar.org and must be submitted before 5 p.m. Feb. 19 to:

Interviews will be conducted March 5 at the Duval County Courthouse. The commission will submit up to six nominees to Gov. Ron DeSantis by March 22.

Skinner, 66, was appointed to the circuit bench in 1996. His current term was to expire Jan. 4, 2021.
