The city’s next Walmart Supercenter, a $7.8 million project, landed approvals for construction in Southwest Jacksonville.

The city approved the project Thursday. Walmart will build a 194,574-square-foot store at 7075 Collins Road, off the Interstate 295 West Beltway. R.A. Rogers Construction Co. LLC is the contractor.

Gatlin Development Co. Inc. is the developer. It previously filed site plans for its proposed 44-acre Collins Crossing at northwest Collins Road and I-295 that will be anchored by the Walmart Supercenter. More details are at gatlindc.com.

Walmart already has 15 area Supercenters.

The Collins project will be more than Walmart. It also will comprise three flex-retail buildings totaling 29,700 square feet and three outparcels of 1.3 to 2 acres.

The property is owned by Park City Farms LLC and Olsen Farms LLC, whose manager is real-estate company Thomas Dumas Inc.

Gate Petroleum Co. is one of the businesses that will join the project. The Jacksonville-based company filed site plans for a Gate Food Store at the Collins Crossing development.

Those plans show a 5,980-square-foot convenience store and 11 fueling stations on 2.06 acres along Collins Road. CPH Inc. is the civil engineer. Ebert Norman Brady Architects is the architect.
