Bargain hunters and curious lunchgoers alike packed the Discount Pro Wear store at the Landing Thursday during the first day of the store’s three-day liquidation sale. The longtime Landing store featured clothing, merchandise and memorabilia from sports of all kinds but is being sold at deeply discounted prices – much of it was 70 percent off Thursday – to clear the space for another store and provide extra space for the upcoming Florida-Georgia game, said Landing Spokeswoman Rachel Nudge. Goodwill employees are providing the labor, and proceeds from the sale, which ends Saturday, will be split between Goodwill and the Landing. The hottest selling items during the first day included both University of Florida and Florida State University gear, as well as Jaguars merchandise.
