The JAX Chamber board of directors chose Memorial Hospital CEO Bradley Talbert as its 2023 chamber chair.

“Brad is a trusted, respected leader who jumped in to get involved in our community as soon as he moved here,” JAX Chamber President and CEO Daniel Davis said in an Oct. 22 news release.

“Brad understands that a strong, unified business community is critical to a thriving economy and he will be an excellent leader for our Chamber members.”

For the past two years, Talbert has been chair of JAXUSA Partnership, the chamber’s economic development arm.

The organization traditionally elects its chair more than a year in advance. As chair-elect, Talbert will lead the 2022 Leadership Trip.

Ray Driver, an attorney and partner of Driver, McAfee, Hawthorne & Diebenow, is chair-elect this year and will serve as chair of the board of directors in 2022.

“We’re seeing incredible interest in Jacksonville right now, and one reason is the leadership of our business community working together to promote our city and help companies grow in our community,” Talbert said in the release.

Before moving to Jacksonville in 2017, Talbert was CEO of Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He was named a South Carolina Economic Ambassador in 2015 by then-Gov. Nikki Haley. Talbert recently was named to Florida Trend’s Florida 500, highlighting the state’s most influential business leaders.

Mayor Lenny Curry appointed Talbert to the JaxPort board of directors.

Talbert is a member of the Jacksonville Civic Council and the University of North Florida Dean’s Council.

He received a bachelor’s degree in finance at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and a master’s degree in health administration at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

The other members of the 2022 JAX Chamber board of directors will be finalized later this year.
