And it’s coming down.

Realco Recycling Co. intends to demolish the former Buca di Beppo restaurant at 10300 Southside Blvd. for construction of a Miller’s Ale house restaurant.

The city issued a demolition permit Wednesday.

Buca di Beppo closed the Italian restaurant at year-end. The 8,494-square-foot building was developed in 2003.

The site is near The Avenues mall.

Orlando-based Miller's Ale House intends to build a 7,150-square-foot restaurant on 2.5 acres at the address, shown as 10334 Southside Blvd. It would be the fifth Jacksonville location for Miller’s Ale House.

The city is reviewing a permit application for new construction of a 241-seat Miller’s Ale House at the site at a project cost of $1.2 million.
