Business in Brief: UNF ranked, wins grant

U.S. News & World Report names school a Southern “Best Regional” university.

The University of North Florida was named a Southern “Best Regional” university for the eighth consecutive year by U.S. News & World Report.

In the magazine’s 2019 “Best Colleges” edition, UNF ranked No. 42, up six spots from 2018; No. 14 in “Top Public Schools”; No. 29 in “Best Colleges for Veterans”; and No. 58 in “Best Value.”

UNF wins AmeriCorps grant

 University of North Florida’s College of Education and Human Services was awarded $283,708 for the Jacksonville Teacher Residency program from AmeriCorps.

The grant prepares teachers for the urban classroom setting. The money will support 29 teacher candidates serving in Duval County’s high-need schools.
