Celebrating Fort Caroline's 450th anniversary

Local history fans turned out in droves Monday evening to City Hall to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the founding of Fort Caroline.

The event included a ceremony that had Mayor Alvin Brown presenting several keys to the city for organizers and dignitaries, which was followed by a program by University of North Florida professors on the location and historical perspectives of Fort Caroline.
