With the permit issued, Coggin Chevrolet at The Avenues will renovate and expand its 10880 Philips Highway dealership near The Avenues mall.
The city issued a permit Sept. 21 for RLH Construction LLC of Oviedo to expand and renovate the dealership at a cost of almost $8.4 million.
The permit says the project is a renovation of a Coggin Chevrolet car dealership showroom building with the addition of a service drive, back-of-showroom, and a service shop with a two-story parts storage.
The enclosed space will increase to more than 50,000 square feet.
The property ownership is part of Asbury Automotive Group Inc. of Duluth, Georgia.
Kimley-Horn and Associates Inc. is the civil engineer.
Plans show parts of the dealership will be removed and redeveloped with new building area.
The dealership was developed in 1992, with one service building in 1973. The site is 6.94 acres.
