Commission seeks applicants for judge

Applicants for the county court judgeship opened when Linda McCallum was moved to circuit court have until Jan. 17 to apply to the local nominating commission.

Applicants must be a resident of the Fourth Judicial Circuit, be a registered voter and be a member of The Florida Bar for at least five years.

The commission will forward a minimum of three and a maximum of six names to Gov. Jeb Bush for the appointment.

The commission is chaired by Joshua Whitman and members are Christine Clark, Angela Corey, Terrence James, Mary Bland Love, Terrence Schmidt, Peter Sleiman, Michael Stokes and Cleve Warren.

Applications should be sent to Whitman at 4500 Salisbury Rd., Suite 340, Jacksonville 32216.
