CSX Corp. announced a realignment of roles June 7 for two high-ranking executives.

The Jacksonville-based company appointed Chief Financial Officer Kevin Boone executive vice president of sales and marketing and Mark Wallace, who had served in that role since July 2018, was named executive vice president focusing on special projects.

CSX said in a news release that Wallace is receiving treatments for cancer but gave no other details.

Boone joined CSX in September 2017 and was appointed chief financial officer in October 2019.

The Jacksonville-based railroad company said Sean Pelkey was appointed acting chief financial officer to replace Boone in that role. Pelkey has been with CSX since 2005, most recently as vice president, finance and treasury.

“These appointments demonstrate the depth of CSX’s leadership and place us in a position of strength,” CEO James Foote said in the news release.
