Dawn Greene has been a Realtor with Watson Realty since June 2003.

BEFORE WATSON?

Greene was in banking for 20 years. She started with Atlantic Bank (which eventually has become Wachovia) in Daytona Beach in 1983 as a teller. She worked her way up to training the tellers and then went into training and development. She was a statewide trainer and traveled all over the state training. “My position in Daytona was eliminated and they had a training position open in Jacksonville and asked if I would I consider moving here. I said yes.” She then moved over to branch operations, which included procedure writing in 1994. When her department was eliminated she decided to get into real estate.

WHY GO INTO REAL ESTATE?

“I had always thought that I would like to be in real estate. I’m a big Home and Garden Television fan and I watch the Real Estate Channel all the time. I love looking at model homes, so I thought I should try real estate.”

HOW HAS YOUR PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE HELPING YOU NOW?

“Initially, in my banking career, I was very customer service orientated. When you are in banking the customer is what really counts. I like dealing with people and I think my outside interest including my home, remodeling and renovations led me to this new career.”

SPECIALTY?

Residential real estate all over Jacksonville. “I’ve sold in the Northside, Westside, Southside, Argyle and Mandarin.”

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT REAL ESTATE?

Greene said she really enjoys the flexibility of her job. “I’m very organized and I can multi-task. I like having control over my time and try to use it wisely. I love being in and out of houses.”

PET PEEVES?

“A big thing is the lack of urgency that people have. A lack of urgency in returning phone calls. I often tell people that I am always waiting as a Realtor for someone else to take care of what they need to do. I love when I come across another Realtor who has the same sense of urgency that I do.”

LESSONS LEARNED?

“Not to be over anxious because you will have those deals that will fall apart no matter how hard you work to try and keep them together. I’ve learned to take disappointments a little bit better when sales fall apart. I’ve always had patience since I was a trainer, so that helps.”

LEADS?

Greene has her own website, www.dawngreene.com, that she says brings her over 500 leads a month. “It is really bringing me a lot of business.”

ADVICE FOR NEW REALTORS?

Greene said to relax. “The first six months I was in the business was very slow. I lost a couple of buyers probably due to my inexperience, and I had some that didn’t qualify. I started to panic, but then all of a sudden things started happening and it is because I was consistent and didn’t give up on it.”

HOMETOWN?

Greene was born in New Jersey, but lived all over as an Air Force brat.

RESIDES

She currently lives in Mandarin, but is moving to Bryceville.

FAMILY

She is engaged to Rick Andreacchio, who works for the Dana Corporation as a district sales manager in The Automotive Aftermarket Group.

WHAT DOES SHE DO FOR FUN?

Greene loves to bake. “I make the best carrot cake in the world.” She also enjoys reading, gardening, watching NASCAR auto racing and walking her cocker spaniel, Tara. She cites her favorite movie as “The Way We Were” and her favorite book as “Jane Eyre.” When dining out, she enjoys Carrabbas and when traveling, she loves Vermont.
