Duck Donuts building-out in Shoppes at Bartram Park

It's the first Jacksonville restaurant for the chain.

Duck Donuts is a step closer to opening its first Jacksonville shop.

The city approved build-out for Duck Donuts at the Shoppes at Bartram Park. 

Peak Construction Inc. will make interior improvements to 1,400 square feet of space at a cost of $194,310 at 13820 Old St. Augustine Road, No. 141.

The location is near Publix Super Markets Inc.

Duck Donuts franchise owner Craig Hutchings said previously he will hire about 30 people for the restaurant, which sells made-to-order doughnuts.

He has plans for additional locations in Jacksonville.

Shoppes at Bartram Park is off Interstate 95 in Duval County, near St. Johns County. Hutchings said the Bartram Park location was chosen because of its proximity both to Duval and St. Johns counties.
