Continue engaging current members and recruiting new members. Two ways to accomplish this is through award/grant writing and increasing government attorney participation.

JBA YLS has been fortunate to receive many grants. If we can continue to secure additional funding, we are able to engage more members at events for a lower cost.

Additionally, submitting our members for awards allows us to recognize our active members and encourages their involvement so they can potentially receive statewide recognition for their accomplishments.

As a government attorney, I can help create events that are more accessible for my peers and personally encourage their attendance and involvement.

From a young age, I have always had a desire to serve people. The desire to serve is what ultimately lead to me becoming a lawyer.

In law school, I sat on the board for many organizations such as Mock Trial and Moot Court.

My goal, if selected to be a member of the YLS board, is to be a committed and reliable leader. To me, leadership is about more than just dictating. Leadership is about listening, participating, building comradery and empowering others.

My ultimate goal is to be a helping hand in any way I can and to empower other young lawyers to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

My goal for The Jacksonville Bar Association YLS is to increase membership and inactive member participation through events that promote professional growth and networking through more creative and engaging events.

Young lawyers are often so busy that we forget just how important community involvement, comradery, and recreation are.

This past year, during the height of COVID-19, I helped organize the first-ever Virtual YLS Charity Poker Tournament and I plan to continue to introduce creative event ideas and work towards drawing in more new and active members by creating a YLS environment that is fun and rewarding to be a part of.

The JBA YLS just came off a stellar year, having won The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Large Affiliate of the Year award.

My goal is to continue my service on the board to encourage and utilize renewed energy for in-person events while capitalizing on the remote capabilities for CLEs, events and happy hours that 2020 introduced to us.

More than ever, we have the tools to cater to a diverse and broad range of lawyers across all of Jacksonville. The YLS is more focused on diversity and inclusion than ever and it is my hope to continue to foster these ideals if elected to continue my years-long service as board member.

Despite unprecedented challenges, over the past year the YLS successfully leveraged technology to connect with members and to support our local community. I am proud to have contributed to these efforts as a YLS board member.

Moving forward, it is important for the YLS to redouble its engagement with members, as well as our broader community. This engagement should include networking events at local businesses, CLE events, and charitable programming.

To this end the YLS should coordinate with local organizations (legal and non-legal) to provide unique and diverse opportunities to connect in our community. If elected I will enthusiastically pursue these objectives on behalf of our members.
