First Guaranty Bank names new vice presidents

James McRae has joined First Guaranty Bank as senior vice president and chief credit officer and Bruce Angers has been promoted to assistant vice president, systems and security officer.

“Both James and Bruce each have more than 30 years’ experience in their respective fields. Their combined expertise and knowledge will aid the bank’s development and our established team,” said First Guaranty President Don D. Roberts.

In this new role as senior vice president and chief credit officer, James will direct the bank’s credit administration, loan administration and asset quality. With 36 years’ experience in local banking, prior positions include executive vice president at Mercantile Bank, senior vice president at Bank of America and senior corporate credit policy officer at Barnett Bank.

Bruce, who joined First Guaranty in 2005 as systems administrator, now serves as assistant vice president, systems and security officer. Recently promoted to this position by the board of directors, he has more than 30 years’ experience in all facets of information technology. He garnered his banking experience in the Jacksonville area, including previous positions at SouthTrust Bank and American National Bank.
