More than 500 active and former Girl Scouts and supporters attended the 23rd annual Girl Scouts of Gateway Council Women of Distinction awards luncheon Wednesday at the Hyatt Downtown.

Six women were honored as women of distinction. The Lois T. Graessle Community Impact Award was presented to Delores Barr Weaver, co-owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars, chair and CEO of the Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation and founder and trustee of the Weaver Family Foundation.

Graessle, who died in 2007, spent 65 years as a volunteer and advocate for women, children, the terminally ill and the poor in Northeast Florida.

The 2011 honorees are all longtime community volunteers. They are Robin Albaneze, a veteran fashion and sales director; Betty Asque Davis, a Realtor with Watson Realty; Davalu Parrish, president and CEO of The Bridge of Northeast Florida; Judith Rodriguez, a professor with the Brooks College of Health at the University of North Florida; Laine Silverfield, former executive director and retired chair of Dreams Come True; and Cindy Stover, North Florida Market president of Mercantile

Bank.
