A hot July day didn’t deter the crowds at last week’s Friday Fest in Hemming Plaza, According to Downtown Vision, Inc., which sponsors the event, about 700 people attended the event over the course of the evening to enjoy the sounds of Jazz musician Teddy Washington and his band. The theme was American as Apple Pie, featuring apple pie, hot dogs and an Uncle Sam character. The next Friday Fest is scheduled for Aug. 16, featuring music from the 1980s.
