Starting Aug. 7, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority will launch Route 82, with direct shuttle service between the Armsdale Park-n-Ride and the Amazon.com fulfillment center on Pecan Park Road.

Route 82 will operate seven days a week, with service 30 minutes before and after shift changes in the morning and evening at the Northwest Jacksonville warehouse.

JTA said the Amazon Shuttle will operate every five to seven minutes during shift changes.

The Armsdale Lot is at 3191 Armsdale Road, south of Interstate 295 off Lem Turner Road.

The Park-n-Ride features parking for 189 vehicles, bike racks and ticket-vending machines. It offers direct connections to the First Coast Flyer “Green Line.”

The MyJTA mobile app allows customers with smartphones to buy an unlimited-ride, single-day pass for $4 or a one-ride ticket for $1.50.  They can download the free MyJTA app from Google Play or the Apple App Store.

JTA STAR Cards also are available for purchase at the Rosa Parks Transit Station and at Ticket Vending Machines.

STAR Cards be loaded and reloaded with time-based passes, such as weekly or monthly, specific number of trips or dollar value.

They can be automatically reloaded every month with an automatic deduction from a customer’s bank account or credit card.

A web-based card registration means if a card is lost or stolen, the remaining value will be restored on a new card by JTA. The card is good for three years. A 31-day pass is available for $50, which works out to $1.62 per day.
