Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Law Day 2020 was a virtual event May 6, viewed by more than 200 internet attendees.

The Jacksonville Bar Association and the Jacksonville Daily Record introduced the Liberty Bell Award and Lawyer of the Year winners.

This year’s Law Day theme was “Your Vote, Your Voice, Our Democracy: The 19th Amendment at 100,” reflecting on women winning the right to vote.

In her keynote address, retired state Supreme Court Justice Peggy Quince explained the evolution of voting rights in America and charged attorneys with the responsibility to help the community understand the importance of everyone who is eligible exercising their right to have their vote counted.
