Name: Wade Hampton, but I go by Wycke

Age: 47, going on 29.

Family: Wife and two teenage boys (who are wearing me out)

Pets: Sam, a spoiled-rotten yellow Lab

Education: B.A. from Washington & Lee University and law degree from University of South Carolina

Admitted to Bar: Georgia 1991, South Carolina (inactive) 1991 and Florida 1992

Employed: Duss, Kenney, Safer, Hampton & Joos

Field of practice: Real estate and business law, and real estate and business litigation

Professional organizations: More Bar associations than you can count: Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, American and Jacksonville. You ought to see my daily junk mail.

Community involvement: Member of board of directors of The 200 Club of Jacksonville

How did you become involved: I was recruited to join and then serve on the board by Fred Kent III.

How others can become involved: Contact me

What have you learned: There are great things being done behind the scenes all over Jacksonville all the time, without much publicity. The 200 Club is one such organization that steps up immediately to help the families and loved ones of our first responders who perish in the line of duty. The organization asks for no accolades, but quietly serves our community in times of great tragedy and need.

Last book you read: Other than volumes of the Southern Reporter, “The Rising,” an account of the 1916 Easter Rebellion in Ireland. History is so much more interesting than fiction.
