Jacksonville attorney Wilene Claudette Dozier has been disbarred from practicing law in Florida, according to the Florida Supreme Court. The action was the result of a child care center fraud that she and her mother, former State Rep. Willye Dennis, were involved in.

Dozier, who listed her address as 2421 Grand St., was disbarred after she pleaded guilty to a felony.

Dozier admitted to converting property valued in excess of $5,000 to pay for expenses for her personal benefit and for the benefit of others. The funds came from a not-for-profit organization which received federal program benefits.
