Mandatory evacuations will be lifted at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Jacksonville as the height of Hurricane Dorian's impact on Duval County passes.

Mayor Lenny Curry made the announcement via social media about 3:50 p.m. Curry also said the bridges leading eastbound toward the Beaches are open.

Mandatory evacuations for Duval County Zones A and B have been in effect since 8 a.m. Monday.

The mayor and other city and county officials will hold a media briefing about the storm's impact at 5:45 p.m. from the Duval County Emergency Operations Center.
