Memorial Hospital will open its Women’s Health Center at southwest Kernan and Atlantic boulevards Oct. 19.

Memorial renovated the 6,300-square-foot former Southside Soul Food Bistro at 11876 Atlantic Blvd. at a cost of $3 million to open the center, it said in a news release Oct. 18.

It is the hospital’s first free-standing women’s health office. HCA Healthcare, Memorial’s parent company, has others planned in the region.

The center will offer mammography, bone density testing, ultrasounds, annual exams, minimally invasive surgery, routine and high-risk obstetric exams and other gynecology services.

It is next to Memorial’s free-standing emergency room.

“This opportunity will provide increased patient access and convenience for existing and new patients,” Dianne Johnson, director of breast imaging at Memorial Hospital Jacksonville, said in the release.

“The imaging center will provide women with easy access to screening mammography, ultrasound exams, bone density and other important imaging requests.”

Physicians Dianne Johnson and Sonnie Kim-Ashchi and certified nurse-midwife Lynn Trottern, an advanced practice registered nurse, will practice at the center.

Auld & White Constructors LLC is the project contractor. TM Partners PLLC of Lakewood Ranch is the project architect.

Memorial leases the building from landlord Triple Net Equities Ltd., managed by developer Peter Sleiman.
