Jacksonville attorney Michael Tanner is one of two nominees for president-elect of The Florida Bar.
A shareholder and business litigator with the Gunster law firm, Tanner board certified by The Florida Bar in civil trial and business litigation. He has represented the 4th Judicial Circuit on the state Bar’s board of governors since 2011.
Tanner will face Ocala attorney Renee Thompson in the March election.
Fourth Circuit incumbent board of governors representative Michael Fox Orr was re-elected without opposition to an additional two-year term until June 2021.
Orr is a founding partner of Orr|Cook and also a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association board of governors.
Ballots will be emailed or mailed to eligible voters by March 2. Results are expected to be announced March 24.
