Mr. Taco taking Shack Maui space in Hodges Plaza

It's the second storefront for the restaurant with five food trucks.

Mr. Taco Hodges Inc. applied for a certificate of use at 13799 Beach Blvd., No. 1, in Hodges Plaza in the 1,600-square-foot space formerly occupied by Shack Maui.

Tiffany Ash with landlord Ashco Inc. said it will be the second storefront location for Mr. Taco in addition to its five food trucks.

The first is in Southpoint Plaza shopping center at 6426 Bowden Road. Ash anticipates a grand opening within two weeks.

Mr. Taco owner Ludwin Sanchez said he is able to operate five food trucks and two storefronts because of family.

“I have my family working with me and that’s how I am able to do that,” he said.

He anticipates opening more locations.

“Of course we will,” Sanchez said.

He is looking for a location in the Orange Park area.

“We have a lot of customers who always ask us if we want to come to Orange Park,” Sanchez said.

“As soon as we find a good deal, we will open another.”
