A landscaping project at Atlantic Boulevard and the Arlington Expressway is scheduled to begin July 29, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

The project includes plantings of trees and grasses in the medians west of the intersection to Monument Road.

Trees and plants that will be installed along the project’s medians and rights of way are live oak, bald cypress, magnolia and crape myrtle. The project includes a temporary irrigation system to support the plantings.

Lafleur Nurseries and Garden Center LLC was awarded the $240,000 project, which includes about four months of construction plus a two-year establishment period.

Traffic will be maintained in accordance with FDOT design standards throughout the project. Posted speed limits will remain in place throughout the duration of construction.

Work is expected to take place during daytime hours, Monday-Friday, with occasional lane closures.
